Kai-shek 230 Posted June 21, 2013 Well it has been 8 weeks since my first fill, I can eat almost anything I want. Tonight I had a bowl of chilli con carne. On the plus side I have lost 36 lbs, my sister came to visit me and we took two weeks vacation, although I walked miles every day I did eat more. Roll on Monday till my 2nd fill, time to get this show on the road finally. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
labwalker 1,177 Posted June 21, 2013 36 pounds is great! I gained for three months after my surgery... it wasn't until the third fill that I was able to control portion sizes without being hungry afterwards. And then the weight starting falling off. Keep it up! I love success stories. 3 stept04, Kai-shek and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted June 21, 2013 Chili Con Carne is a slider food. It's one of those foods that usually pass through the stoma with ease. Try eating fish, chicken or ground beef and see if you feel any restriction or early satiety? I didn't feel restriction till fill #3(4 months out) so hang in there. 3 stept04, Kai-shek and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted June 21, 2013 great job on the weight loss and esp the walking....the chili dish sounded yummy......but agree with tmf that it does slide on through.....more filling type meals seem to make me not hungry...and feel fuller longer but hey, your doing terrific...did your sister go out of her mind because you looked so great? 3 SueBee01, 2muchfun and Kai-shek reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted June 22, 2013 Good start. Keep up the good work! Don't count on fills to do all the work. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and Kai-shek reacted to this
Kai-shek 230 Posted June 22, 2013 Thanks all for the advice, I never considered chilli would be a slider. I should have known though coz it goes down real good (lol). I must agree I have learned that to get the best out of the band you have to work with it and I love you guys for keeping me on track. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
