Weight Warriors Welcomed

Recommended Posts

I am battling to lose. I am battling to exercise. Somedays I lose the battle, but I WILL win the war.

Any other warriors out there? Those that struggle but could use a pal that gets it.

Yesterday I tried couch to 5k for the first time. Thought it would be another thing I would try and give up on or fail. But holy cow, I did it. I finished!! Day one, I won the battle!

Take today off....thank goodness because my arthritic knees are screaming at me. But I won the battle! And I actually look forward to day 2 tomorrow. (that was NOT a typo!!)

Greetings fellow Warrior! I'm right here with you! Been battling so much since surgery.

Quick snap shot:

Had surgery

Husband had surgery

Nieces communion that Sunday

Pain in side

Back to work 1 week after surgery

Incision infected

Drains for 2 weeks side sore wound is right in the waist where seat belt goes and work desk hits.

Bad case of Bronchitis on 2 rounds of antibiotics

Father in hospital for curated artery surgery 5 hour surgery touch and go ICU for a week.

Son graduates from Tech School

Guidance office calls to tell me if he doesn’t hand in report he will not graduate from High School!

Father moved out of ICU

Father in law has pulmonary blood clot and rushed to hospital

Father in law in ICU

Father released from Hospital on O2 24 hours a day at home now.

Prom

Father in law released from Hospital

Graduation day is tomorrow night….(Sorry this is more like a portrait then a quick snap shot!)

AND I am TIRED!!!!!!!! BUT I am still going to the gym, trying to get that 30 minute walk in every day at least and watching what I am eating.

I am not losing the way I would like to, but the nutritionist says women's bodies are designed to hold onto fat when they are under stress, so that is something I am really trying to work on.

Please count me in the Warrior club! I just downloaded the Couch to 5K app and will give it go this weekend.

First, hi Lisa! Nice to meet you.

Second, HOLY COW, You areliving a lifetime movie!!!

Give c to 5k a try. Not easy for me, but, ready to try again tomorrow.

Feel free to pm me or visit here to vent or get a pep talk.

I definitely understand the sandwich generation stress. If it isn't the elderly parents, it's the teenagers. Just spent $40,000 for my son to be on academic probation his freshman yr of college!

Good for you!! I loved the c25k app. I am now working on running 3-4 miles without stopping because of it. Keep it up and you will start to enjoy it. We are ALL warriors our battle is just a little different from everyone else. You CAN DO IT!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
