leighw 12 Posted June 20, 2013 Had my surgery on 6/14/13....nausea started today and I am just miserable. Doc has me on nausea meds and they are not even close to working. I so want to throw up but can't. This may sound gross but when i go to throw up, nothing but air comes out. Also having a hard time burping. Started taking some gas x. Some relief. I think all the air in my stomach is causing this. Can't sleep. Please pass on some encouragement to help me get through this. Struggling......
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted June 20, 2013 Hang in there, it does get better. Most of the air is indie your body around you stomach. Try some ginger tea, or flat ginger ale for the nausea. Are you getting enough fluids? Dehydration can add to nausea. Try a heating pad on your shoulders. I wish you well soon! I know it sucks. Just take one day at a time. Best wishes! JACKIEO85 308 Posted June 20, 2013 leighw, sorry that your nauseous, major surgery will do that perhaps you can try a heating pad on your abdomen. I'd call the doctor tomorrow and let him know that the meds he gave you aren't working so well. Remember to walk allot too, your early out and probably still dealing with the CO2 in your system as well. Are you having problem with shoulder pain? That is a common problem post-op along with the nausea? Feel better soon!!
jenn0528 40 Posted June 20, 2013 They gave me a battery device around my wrist after surgery that stopped the nausea. I got to take it home and the battery worked for 7 days. Maybe you can get the prego wrist bands to help with nausea?
