I'm 6 days post op and I'm still having spells of nausea. I'm going back to work tomorrow, I hope the nausea doesn't cause to many problems. Anyone have any tips or advice for the nausea?

I'm 3 days post op and still getting nauseas but I think it's the pain meds. Have you had your first post op check with your doc?

Did your doctor give you anti-nausea meds? If not, it might be a good idea to have him call in a prescription.

Check with your Doctor it's normally the pain meds but you can also get anti-nausea meds if necessary like phenergan

I am 5 days post op and the nausea started today and its pretty bad. I stopped the pain meds and the doc even has me on meds for the nausea. I actually think its air caught in my stomach that can't get out. Please tell me this gets better.

Thanks guys, I have phenergan but it completely knocks me out, and I'm headed back to work this morning so hopefully I do okay today!

I had such bad nausea and I attributed it to the pain meds, same thing happened with my gall bladder surgery so they put me on something different....well didn't work again. I stopped taking my pain meds day 2 believe it or not and also had the Fluid taken out of the band - instantly felt better. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
