Just take it one day at a time! sugar free pospicles were my savior, I like the sugar free bomb pops, you can crunch on them so you get the chew factor. By day 3, not much sounded good anymore and I wasn't very hungry, but then again, I only had to do it for 5 days.

You can do this!

My pre-op was only 1 day. Funny how different doctors have different guidelines. Maybe it goes by individual?

I dont know what youre preop diet consists of but I will tell you that day 1 for me I wanted to eat my arm!! I was SOOOOO hungry and wondered how I would do it for 10 days. BUT...day 2 was SOOOO much easier and I ended up breezing through the 10 days without a single slip up. YOU CAN DO IT!! Mind over matter...it's a short time when compared to the rest of your life! :) Stay strong friend!!

My pre-op diet is only Clear Liquids. I am not sure how creative you can get with clear liquids for 5 days.

Today is day two for me and I'm hearing so many people say the can have one meal and sugar free Jello. Mine is pure liquid. 3-4 Protein Shakes and unlimited Water or propel. Yesterday was hard but today is better. I weight myself and lost 2 lbs so this helps me to want to do better. Keep focused. You'll do great.

I am on day 3 and its getting better. I was provided a list of acceptable Proteins like beef Jerky, turkey weiners, eggs etc along w the Protein shakes. I'm equipped and prepared for these next 9 days.

I think the first two was torture!

We can do it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
