Toddy 758 Posted June 20, 2013 I've been reading up on the sleeve and while it seems very effective when everything goes right, it seems like complications (leaks) can turn into serious issues with long recovery times. The band still seems like the right procedure for me but my doctors feedback and the industry trends are of concern. I think it's down to the band or nothing for me ... DON'T GIVE UP!! If you really don't want the sleeve, then don't get the sleeve! The band will still be very effective!! Even though I earlier said knowing what I know now that I would get the sleeve over the band... I still LOVE my band and how it has changed my life!! And I can still say that even though I did have a slip and had to have surgery a second time!!!
MsGal 104 Posted June 20, 2013 One great point that my surgeon pointed out.....a lot of people regain the weight years after by stretching out the stomachs (sleeve and bypass) BUT the sleeve has a high rate of people keeping the weight off and can still make restrictions.
