I have a couple of questions.

1. How do you manage to drink all your fluids and not have to go to the bathroom a million times?

2. If the band is supposed to hold me over for about four hours, how does my doc recommended three meals a day work? I leave the house at 6:30am and get home around 6:30pm depending on my coaching schedule...

3. Any other tips?

i started the pre op liquid diet and the bathroom is an issue. I am a speech pathologist so I work o a 1/2 hr schedule so I try and run to bathroom in between children. I also do home care and sometimes the 30 mins btwn houses is difficult im running straight to the bathroom. I bought a lunch box cooler maybe for the in btwn time you can drink a Protein Shake I put an ice pack in my "lunch box" and put my ice in my shaker cup and place in fridge at work and it stays cold not icey and it worked today pretty good. I think its all about the planning and the cooler has saved my life in my dieting journey did similar tricks when I was on weight watchers and with the band I imagine we need less food to feel full. I wont be banded until 7/1/13 so we will see

1. Pray your bladder doesn't explode! I heard that can happen, OH wait I read that on the internet, not everything you read is true.. ;) The Fluid requirements are so that you don't get dehydrated, you can always arrange that so you drink more when a restroom is readily available.

2. Your band isn't going to hold you over for 4 hrs, not if your newly banded, that is progressive with fills. You have to learn Mind control. OR FEAR, that worked for me. I was so paranoid after being banded about all the things I wasn't supposed to do . Like don't drink b4 /after eating, no carbonation, eat only a cup of food, all the "rules" because eventually it becomes habit and "over thinking " stops.

I think you might want to consider eating the 3 meals but perhaps incorporating healthy Snacks into your schedule as well 6:30 am-6:30 pm is a long day. But often banders have stated that their band is tight in the early am and it's difficult to eat much? so maybe you can delay your Breakfast to help make it through the day.

I am a 4th grade teacher so I can relate to your questions / issues.

I eat a lot of yogurt for breakfast (add unjury UNflavored protein); then, at school I have a Dole Shakers with added Unjury UNflavored protein; that gets me to 60 grams of protein; I drink A LOT of water; I try to go to the bathroom before I pick up my students; during my plan period and at lunch; I have a teacher next door who covers my room for emergencies which happens at least once a day.

Ooh, this is something I've been thinking about too! I teach a self-contained special education class of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. I have kids in my class ALL the time. I do not have a dedicated lunch or prep time. Ever. It will be interesting for sure.

I am a high school teacher so I understand. I have a shake on the way to school and then have a small snack (almonds, cheese stick, small Protein Bar, etc) at about 9:30 if needed. Eat a sensible lunch at 12:30 and then I don't usually eat dinner until around 7pm. If needed, I have another small snack at 3:30 but most of the time I am ok.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
