A New New Dawn 1,695 Posted June 18, 2013 Doughy breads don't work well for me and sometimes Pasta so I tend to avoid those. Also, I hear many people say salad but for me it goes down tooooo easy (slider food for me). I have to be very careful w/ bananas too as those can be very painful for me if not chewed in small bites to mush. Lastly, Cereal doesn't go well w/ me. I found the crunchy Fiber cereals are ok though. Dry meat I won't even go there. How about you?
pink dahlia 2,513 Posted June 18, 2013 Raw broccoli is a big no-no, and dry chicken breast and dry pork chops too. Broiled chicken like the already cooked , good smellin ones from the grocery store are fine ......mmmmmmm....... sometimes Pasta gives me a little trouble. Tonight I made spaghetti and had a mini stuck for a few minutes.....Everything else is fine for me,
nina874 48 Posted June 18, 2013 Oh I had forgotten spaghetti, slippery little suckers get away for my teeth and then wrap themselves around the band yeuk!! I have to say that I had a very unfortunate experience with a Big Mac that got stuck in carpark of MD's and I tried to wash it down with a cola - it can only be compared to a heart attack pain followed by a mount Vesuvius eruption........ Carbonated drinks do NOT work for me.

beanie80 146 Posted June 19, 2013 I have seen sushi mentioned a couple times now, why the trouble with sushi!? Also, what happens with rice? I would think since it was small it wouldn't be too bad....
MissE44 27 Posted June 21, 2013 Lately mine has been salad crazy I think...I always enjoyed a good salad and so this does restrict what I order on a menu. I also have trouble with dry meat so usually my go to is fish.
azdmelissa 7 Posted August 29, 2013 Rice (especially sticky rice) is a big no-no for me. I haven't tried sushi, but I doubt I will due to the rice. Muffins have given me problems in the past, but if I take tiny tiny bites, I can eat a small one. But I rarely do. bread also gives me problems if I eat more than a few tiny bites. I usually just try to avoid bread. I haven't tried spaghetti because I heard horror stories I can eat most things if I just slow down and take small bites. I have problems when I forget and take big bites or don't chew extremely well.
lellow 1,713 Posted August 29, 2013 Anything gluggy like sushi rice might cause problems. When I was at green zone, there were many things that were difficult to eat. I could probably still have eaten all of them if I chewed enough and took smaller bites but I couldn't really be bothered. These included shrimp, beef that was well-done, rice, bread and chicken breast. Now I'm relatively loose, by choice, and I still have difficulties with rice. Some things are just more uncomfortable to eat when you're banded.
SueBee01 630 Posted August 29, 2013 I keep my band on the loose side. I can eat anything, but I do not eat any white bread (just because I chose to eat healthy bread) and little Pasta just because they both expand so much. They waste space in my stomach that could be better served/satisfied with other things! I always quote my nut, "love what you eat!" I still love to eat and make the food I eat worth it nutritionally, is enjoyable and what I want! I figure if I am going to eat so little it is going to be worth it! 1 rmalikone reacted to this
