Well my doc told me no NSAIDS at all liquid or pill form. I have very bad osteoarthritis and I'm afraid to take anything for fear of erosion. I'll suffer with my pain than take a chance.

Red wine glasses are larger so there is more room for oxygenation of the wine. The average pour should be 4-6 ounces. The calories In wine come from the alcohol(sugar) look for wines with a lower alcohol level. Stay away from heavy red wines like Cabernet or zinfandel. They have higher alcohol percentages. Pinot Grigio or most sauv Blanc have lower alcohol percentages. Skinny Girl products including margaritas and spirits have lower alcohol percentages and they are pretty good.

If you are drinking spirits try them on the rocks with a wedge of citrus. The majority of calories I'm cocktails are from the mixers.

More than wine??

I've heard both NSAID opinions. None every again, and none for 4 weeks after surgery.

Also, a single glass of red wine is supposed to benefit your cardiovascular system. Normal American red wine glasses are a lot larger than a glass, so you need to be careful!

Yeah, MORE than wine :) I've been away from drinking (for the most part) for so long now, I don't really miss it that much. When it comes to wine, the problem is.....I don't want just ONE glass. I want two or three. So it's best to not even get started. The OTHER thing is, when I drink, I eat. It's just not good (for me) during the weight loss phase. I did have a couple of days where I drank, and I completely over did it. So....now, I just stay away (for the time being). I've never been a daily drinker, but when I do drink, I'm good for 2-3. And with that comes all the finger foods. Yep...not great for mrsinto :o

dalwash - have you tried Meloxicam? It's one of the prescription anti-inflammatories on the "acceptable" list from my doctor. It works great that type of pain. It's not for a headache, but for joint & skeletal pain, it works wonders (for me).

Depends who is pouring! :P In a restaurant or bar, yes. At home.....whole OTHER story - LOL!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
