labwalker 1,177 Posted June 17, 2013 Wow, and those of us who have the band realize and appreciate the commitment it took over those years to achieve those results. Congratulations!!! Awesome job, and an inspiration too!

Bandista 7,466 Posted June 18, 2013 Thanks for posting -- inspirational! I love how I feel when I eat "clean" -- energized and grounded at the same time. My problem has been an inability to sustain that mode -- the falling off the wagon. I am really hoping the band will work for me. No date yet (what a process!). These posts help keep me going. amclapp 8 Posted June 30, 2013 Hi my name is Alaina and I had my lab band surgery November 16,2012. I weighed 265 pounds and I was in a size 22 pushing a 24. it has been 7 months since my surgery and i am now in a size 14 in pants and I weigh 190 pounds. it feels great to go shopping for clothes and know that I can fit into juniors clothes!! If you put in the effort and get your fills when you are supposed to then you will see results. The lap band works and I am the proof!! 2 SueBee01 and Time4Kim reacted to this
mandyloft 9 Posted July 1, 2013 I have had my band for almost 3 years. I started at 318 wnd now I am 238. I too have had to realize the commitment of changing eating habits to almost all vegan! I feel great! When I eat something that is loaded with sugar, carbs, calories, fat, or salt I feel awful! The food we eat really makes a difference in how we feel. Dr. Joe Fuhrman nutritional researcher and physician points out the toxic lifestyle we subject ourselves to. I am reading his book " Eat to Live" I am using it as a guide to break my habits of unhealthy eating. Exercise has become an everyday necessity. It is not an option. I have figured that out the hard way! For those of you that are limited with mobility for exercising try swimming! I started out doing that. I quit for a while but I have recently started back. I am excited to see what the future hold for me... And I wish you all the same journey! It's been hard, but I want to have good health and this is what must happen to get there! Discipline is a hard thing to learn when you have been out of control, especially when it comes to food and bad habits!! 1200 calories and maybe just a tad under is an awesome rule of thumb!
