Got stuck this morning, 1st time in a while, have question.

Recommended Posts

Got stuck this morning on an egg, my band must have been tight for some reason because I can usually eat most anything now but I did get stuck and what came with it lots of PB'ing. My question is this, is PB'ing bad for the band, I mean, you aren't really forcefully vomiting, food is just coming up without effort. Now I know that I have aggravated my band and to take it easy and have today and will tomorrow.

Will I ever learn...

When I had a slip early on, and my doctor questioned me about vomiting, I specifically asked him if there was a distinction between vomiting and regurgitating (PB'ing) and he said most definitely... he was concerned with the vomiting that was a forceful expulsion from the stomach below the band.

But do take it easy and stick to soft foods for the next day or two. I do blame my two instances of vomiting on having an irritated band and still trying to eat regular food.

I'm not a doctor but it seems logical that excessive PBing would be a result of your esophagus having excessive food in it. Seems like it could dilate your esophagus if this were an every meal, every day sort of issue?

2much, no its not every meal, just for some reason I couldn't eat an egg yesterday morning. This morning I had a slider, oatmeal, but then again I wanted to take it easy on my band too. When I do find myself getting stuck its usually because of too big of bites or too fast eating but yesterday I think my band was finicky.

I've been having the same issues for about 5 days now. Suddenly I'm getting stuck on foods that normally pass with no problem. So, back to smaller bites and bigger chews. I get the esophageal dilation fear though!
