I am in transition from one insurance to another, I was supposed to have my first fill appt tomorrow but I haven't heard from my new insurance yet. My question is does anyone know what a fill costs out of pocket? If I reschedule this I can't get seen until July 5th :( Thanks.

I've heard all different prices on that come through this forum. The best thing you can do is call your doctor's office & find out what they charge

I would definitely call the office and find out their charges.

For me, it costs $115. They charge me a $40 co pay when I walk in the door and if I get a full they charge me $75 more. :-(

My doctor charges $75 out of pocket for a fill, but I heard most charge around $100-$115 in my area

I've heard about $100 pretty consistently.

Thanks everyone. I did call the office yesterday twice, left two messages and no one called me back :( So I ended up going through the scheduling department and moving it out until July 5th.....so bummed and hope I can control these hunger pains until then

Seems to me that you shouldn't have to wait three weeks for a fill. Don't they answer the phone? My suggestion.....KEEP calling. When I've needed a fill, I never waited more than 2-3 days. One day (luck of the draw), they got me in the same day.

Keep trying! As they say..... "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" (so to speak).

Good luck. I know how frustrated you must feel.

My dr charges a LOT. with my high deductible my oop is $425! That was a big shock to me so you are wise to reschedule until y know more!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
