bbagley531 6 Posted June 12, 2013 It's day 2 of this pre op diet and I'm ready to slit my wrist. I semi cheated yesterday just from the sheer pain of hunger. I'm allowed 3 oz of meat but as I was putting up the food I cooked I took a big bite of my baked chicken. I'm allowed a half cup of veggies....I ate a cup. I don't know if its just in my head or not but I'm feeling light headed. June 25th can't come soon enough. stept04 465 Posted June 12, 2013 Are you on Protein shakes? Getting in my 80 grams of Protein a day really helped me with feeling hungry or light headed. I don't know what your Dr's. recommendation are but if you can get in 60 to 80 grams of protein it should help. It's what got me through although I still had to deal with cravings for thing, and the urge to cheat Good luck ~~~Stephanie 1 PrettyThick1 reacted to this

DEBBIEX164 9 Posted June 12, 2013 The Protein Shakes help a lot. Once you get past day 3 it gets easier. It is also a mind thing. You have to have the right mind set. What helped me a lot was the sugar free Jello, the low sodium chicken broth and the shakes. Trust me they help. 1 PrettyThick1 reacted to this
AZ Gary 149 Posted June 12, 2013 Day 2 was the hardest for me. Didn't help going to a baseball game where I was surrounded by food. Now on day 6 it is much easier and more like a game to keep going. I'm only on two shakes plus the meal. But I agree the sugar free Jello helps. 1 PrettyThick1 reacted to this

PrettyThick1 1,860 Posted June 13, 2013 11 for me and I meet with mine tomorrow. Do u know what happens in this appointment? Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk You will meet your surgeon and he will explain how the band works (we all know that by now) and things to do and things you should avoid. It's basically a meet and greet so you will be familiar with him or her and their staff. Blood work is drawn and you will probably meet with a counselor. The total time spent on my preop meeting was about 1.5 hours.
aisha1 9 Posted June 13, 2013 Hi, just found this app..... Wish I knew about it earlier. Ok, I'm on day 10 of Pre opp diet. My surgeon only allows for 3 shakes, 1 fruit and 1 cup green veggies. This is to reduce the size of the liver to ensure that he can do key hole surgery rather than opening me up. As I stuffed myself stupid, as this was going to b the last time on my life to eat rubbish, was very concerned with how I would go on such a restrictive diet. Solution: hypnosis! It's been 10 days, and I've had no issues what so ever. I highly recommend it, and hoping it will also make the new transition of small amounts of food long term, easier!
