A Week To Go! Weird Emotions...

Recommended Posts

After all of the going back and forth about why I'm having the surgery, if it's the right thing to do, will I end up worse off...I am now at the "I can't wait for you to see me in a few months" stage. I'm single and have a strange relationship with a guy - I guess the term is "friends with benefits" he's an electrical genius and can fix anything that breaks around my house and doesn't expect anything in return. Well, he ticked me off so badly this weekend that all I can think about is "you're not going to treat me this way 50lbs from now, but it's going to be too late." I know that's really immature and I've never approached this journey from a standpoint of vanity, it's been about my health all along. But this weekend has shown me that I need a satisfying relationship with someone who deserves me as much as I deserve him. I have so much to offer.

With the same token, I know I'll wonder if the guys I meet in the future would like me as I am today - not as they will meet me after my success with the band. Inquiring minds want to know, but it's in God's hands and I trust him more than I trust myself that He will send the man that will fulfill His desires for our lives.

Amen.

I know exactly how you feel but we can't blame others if they are not attracted to overweight people. I'm overweight and only been with skinny guys. As long as people we care about respect that people they think are fat... Are in fact people. I say use that man for all he's good for lol and move on when ur ready!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
