Wow, there are a lot of us on myspace. I think I have added or sent requests to everyone. :clap2:

You know, I used to think myspace was just a place for the teenagers, and I know many still do. But, at the urging of my daughter, I started a page. I am actually finding that I really enjoy it. It gives me the opportunity to let people know a little about me, communicate with others with similar interests/struggles and express my feelings about things. I am especially enjoying the blogging aspect of it. I never thought I would be one to publicly post blogs, but it can be fun just to talk about your day, or post thought-provoking ideas and gain others feedback. Today, I posted a blog about obesity and the discrimination that comes as a result. I would welcome any of you to view my blog and post your thoughts and experiences on the subject. I posted it on myspace as opposed to here, because I know several people who do not use this message board, and I felt would be interesting to hear their thoughts and perspectives on the issue as well.

Sherry, if the person registered with their name that is one way to find them. Another is by email. Go to myspace.com and click search, it will give you several options. If that doesn't help let me know, I will try to help more. ~Mandy

Susan, I totally agree with you. My 17 year old niece spent a bunch of time with us this summer and she was always on and telling me about all the stuff going on with her myspace. One night after I had my foot surgery, I actually started putting my page together and I am really happy with what I have now. I have had my myspace for a while but it was just a blank page until that night. I have caught up with several friends from High School (I lived in the south before moving to Chicago) and we have chatted for hours. I was about to join classmates.com but I saved the money and just added my schools to myspace, I found several people from the past. It has been so much fun. ~Mandy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
