I am not in the area but do visit Nashville occasionally to see a friend. If I get down there this summer I would love a walking partner!

Oh yay! Donna12 - I'm at Fort Campbell...I'd love to set up a monthly, bi-weekly or weekly hike/walk. I've got two little ones (ages 4 and 1) and hubby is deployed so they go pretty much everywhere with me...BUT, they/we travel well and we like adventures! it can be short or long...easy or hard...Whats your interest level?

And Aviva! When you head into town be sure and ping me and we'll plan a get together!

oh cool, kids are fine, I can help. Especially if you have strollers, girl we can hike and push, lol. Now listen, I still weigh 226 and can't walk fast and just have started walking for exercise but would love to get out and have a friend to share this journey with. I Celebrate my 1 yr bandiversary tomorrow, woohoo.

Tell ur hubby thx for his service. I can only imagine how hard it is with 2 little ones and him deployed. I know you probably get up early with the kids but I'm not an early riser, ha., sorry. Let me know what you think. We could do a meeting or early afternoon lunch or afternoon walk somewhere. Have only been on Post a few times so not too familiar with getting around there so you would probably have to meet me off Post somewhere.

Happy Bandiversary! Of course I have a stroller...and a baby backpack too! We can go anywhere! And we don't need to walk fast either We can find a good pace that works for both of us. Just getting out and moving is whats important and I'd love a friend to do this with too!

I do get up early with the little ones...but we can meet you anytime...the only thing is this miserable heat. Its hard for me to be motivated mid-day to exercise when its 90 degrees outside and humid...we just came from Germany so we aren't used to this miserable heat yet. So...as long as we go by about 10AM or if thats too early for you maybe we plan an evening walk? Does that work better for you? By 6-6:30-ish its started to cool down...

I will pass on your thoughts to hubby. We're so used to this separation at this point. I was adding up months the other day and in the past 5 years we've spend approximately a total of 1 year together...and thats not 12 months in a row...thats 12 months over the past 5 years. *sigh* It will be nice to have him home (next spring) and this time its supposed to be for a year or so!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
