TattooBeauty 47 Posted June 8, 2013 As of yesterday, i'm officially down 60 pounds since my surgery date of Jan 25, 13. Today I celebrated by running my first 5k. I never thought in a million years i'd be in a 5k, voluntarily, let alone JOGGING it. WLS surgery has been the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, but little moments like this remind me of why I did it. I attached a photo of a very happy me at the finish line. 10 ☠carolinagirl☠, Jennifer Hodge, elcee and 7 others reacted to this

LessLee 119 Posted June 8, 2013 Wow congrats! That's one of my goals too. I am going to be banded June 21st. May I ask how you found WLS hard compared to other programs? I am nervous.

TattooBeauty 47 Posted June 9, 2013 Wow congrats! That's one of my goals too. I am going to be banded June 21st. May I ask how you found WLS hard compared to other programs? I am nervous. It's by no means an easy out to weight lose. I've probably worked harded with this than any fad diet or program before. You really have to learn about YOURBODY and what works for YOU and the band. Think of your band as a marriage. It's no longer just you, you need to consult your other half before making desicions. For me the hardest park of my journey has been the excepting myself for who I am. Weightloss is hard when you've been over weight your whole life. I have to look at myself and remind myself that I'm not who I used to be anymore, and learn to love/embrace the new me. 2 mrsto and LessLee reacted to this

dawalsh 919 Posted June 9, 2013 Congratulations! I envy you and wish I could do a 5k but due to my disability I'm unable to run but I'm walking and not relying on a mobility cart or my scooter. I'm walking with a cane for many years and have depended on wheelchairs, scooters and mobility carts. I know I'd lose faster if I could jog or run but I can swim and walk with my cane do I'm getting there. I'm losing slowly, I was banded on 12/28/12 and as of today I'm down 50 lbs. so I'm happy.
