It's been a long time since I have bought new clothes besides the usual jeans, t-shirts, stretchy pants and shorts because the last time I tried to get something nice to wear to go out, I ended up staying home because everything looked so horrible on me. You see I'm a true lover of fashion and all that goes with it or as my mother used to tell me a real clothes horse! I have so many clothes that broke the rods in 2 closets, have rolling racks, clothes in boxes and enough shoes to open a boutique! At one point after a huge weight loss (gain almost all of it back or I wouldn't be here) I loved clothes so much, I went to work in a high end clothing store just so I could get the discount and I love to dress people! Sad, isn't it?

Well anyway, I ordered a couple of dresses since I am schedule for some orthopedic surgery and I wanted something that was easy on, easy off for the hospital. I took a guess at the size and prayed that they would arrive in time not be too small. Guess what? They did come in time and they were TOO BIG!!! Not only that, but the one I really liked look pretty good one me! I quickly ordered a smaller size of the one I liked and now as I sit here I am thinking I probably should have ordered it 2 sizes smaller than just 1. It may not arrive in time for my surgery date and it too may be too big (I kind of hope so), but guess what? I'm so happy about it, I don't care! :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
