Same here, I'm also one week post op. I'm really struggling drinking as much Water as I should... it doesn't hurt, I have no problems keeping it down, it's just a much bigger effort to drink in the same quantities I used to.

Thx for your response! I'm keeping everything down but like you said its just harder to fit everything in than it was before. I guess its normal at first and we will work our way there!:)

you are still swollen from surgery and hence why it seems difficult to get your fluids in therefore, until the swelling subsides, please sip and sip and then sip some more to make sure you stay hydrated...SF popsicles saved me...congrats on your surgery :)

I agree with CG. Sip sip sip and then sip again!! Keep a Water with you at all times. I had trouble getting all of mine in and now at 4 weeks post-op I drink an average of 10-12 cups a day. You will be able to drink a lot of water again, but for now sip away and SF popsicles help too! Congrats on your surgery! You will do great! Stay hydrated!!! :)

Thanks CG and Creekwood for the encouragement and support. It's reassuring to know others have gone through the same. You are both inspirations. Thx again!!

Hello everyone, I am also one week post op and I have found that it is almost viturally impossible to get in 64 oz of Water. I almost feel dehydrated. Is anyone having problems keeping their caloric intake in? Each time I eat on my 2nd stage diet, it goes straight through me. Any suggestions? Sent

Hi I'm 4 days post op. all I have consumed is Water but having hard time getting thru a lot because I don't crave anything and sips are so small . I have had a Protein Shake each day but it takes all day to drink one shake. Is that normal? Hope were getting enough but gas is crazy!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
