kate85 6 Posted June 6, 2013 I am 4 weeks post op and I have been told by a few people don't expect to loose weight at this time because you are healing. U won't lose weight until you get a fill. Is this correct.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted June 6, 2013 It really depends on you. The first 4-6 weeks post op are for healing. However, that's not to say you can't lose while healing. I started counting calories and measuring my portions from the day I got from the hospital and because of it I lost consistently right from the very beginning. 4 ☠carolinagirl☠, bindi, mrsto and 1 other reacted to this

I did the same thing. I also stayed about from high cal things and concentrated on making my own food instead of eating Taco Bell refried Beans. I just really started taking care of me! 2 stept04 and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

MiniMi 1,468 Posted June 6, 2013 How many calories were you targeting.... 1000-1200? I target 850-950 but I think 1200 is more acceptable. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
j0anna 37 Posted June 6, 2013 My dr says 800-1200. I kinda stay around 900-1000 just in case I figured something wrong. Lol 1 2muchfun reacted to this

junkbgone 0 Posted June 6, 2013 I'm sure it depends on the individual. At 2 weeks post op I had lost 14.5 lbs now at 4 weeks I'm down 17. I'm sure this will not continue as I increase my food.< /p>
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted June 6, 2013 even during (healing) if you take in more calories then you will burn off, then yes you will gain..as missy said and others, making smart caloric choices is critical...the band will work but it works better if (we) help the band..and also, if the scale is not moving but you are losing inches, then you are losing weight.. 3 MiniMi, bindi and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
Jean McMillan 2,973 Posted June 6, 2013 So, have you lost any weight in the past 4 weeks? Weight loss isn't actually the result of a fill. It's the result of consuming fewer calories than you burn (or burning more calories than you consume). Getting fills will make that easier for you because you will experience early and prolonged satiety (the sensation of having eaten enough food, which is not the same as feeling "full"). Also, keep in mind that just because you feel like your band isn't working yet (if that's the case), that doesn't mean it isn't working. I lost weight before my first fill because I was following my dietitian's eating plan to the very best of my ability. 5 ☠carolinagirl☠, enjoythetime, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and 2 others reacted to this
