Laurie8855 12 Posted June 6, 2013 I ate solids for the first time tonight. I had lettuce and tuna. I'm in pain, have to keep spitting, and puked. Is this normal? When will I feel better?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted June 6, 2013 Puking is never, ever normal. In fact vomiting is very dangerous with the band because it can lead to slips. You were just banded not quite 3 weeks ago, are you supposed to be on solid food already? I would give your doctor a call and get his advice, especially since you're vomiting so soon after surgery. 4 MiniMi, ☠carolinagirl☠, labwalker and 1 other reacted to this
labwalker 1,177 Posted June 6, 2013 salad might be pushing it... some folks with bands can't tolerate lettuce at all. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and 2muchfun reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted June 6, 2013 You may be having a stuck episode. It should pass in an hour or so? Then go back to liquids for at least 24 hrs. Call your doctor if it persists. I don't mean to kick you when you're down, but eat very small, chew chew chew from here on out. tuna is very dry unless you mixed it with mayo? But it's still dry and can clog the band. Good luck. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Laurie8855 12 Posted June 6, 2013 Thanks! I actually saw my doctor yesterday and he told me I could begin solids. I'm pretty sure I just ate way to fast and didn't chew enough! I guess I need to adjust to a new way of eating. It was super painful!
