Gotta ask this sex question....

Recommended Posts

Okay, this may be a really stupid question,:grouphug: but does anyone know of any problems with sex in the missionary position??? I'm afraid my husband's weight (albeit 160 lbs.) might jar the band loose or the port. I meant to ask the doctor last time I was in but totally forgot. Just wondering if anyone has discussed this with their doctor....

Nope It is getting better everyday. I do not think the band will come lose. I was told I could ride rides at sixflags. So it should be safe to ride my cowboy.Yeeeeeeee Haw

Nah, I wouldnt think so. Although if my husband rested his full weight on top of me in that postiion for any lenght of time I'd probably suffocate.

Tell him to support his weight on his hands and arms until you feel comfortable with it.

I really dont think so. My boyfriend weighs 280(he's 6'9) and its fine during sex. When he puts his full weight on me, then its heavy of course and the port feels pressure, but nothing bad.

Best advice is what ever feels ok to you is best. I can say that at about 7 mnths post-op & the activity level that my boyfriend & I have (tmi ;0) there is no amount of anything that could losen or damage or move or injure a band or port ;0) He is 249.

It is what people enjoy doing again when they get to their goal weight!

Oh, but I guess I should add, I didn't have sex for almost a year after surgery, so lot's of healing time....and then it was my first time(Sorry TMI), so really I have nothing to compare to pre-band or post-band sex.

I had my hand over my port within the first three weeks. <- does this make sense :grouphug: ?

Sometimes I can feel my port when I lean over the edge of the counter, but it doesn't hurt.

That is the ONLY position I have ever been in and felt banded.

Nah, the band is safe. It could hardly be nicknamed the 'fertility band' if sex was suddenly off-limits, right?

If my 300+ pound hubby can rest his weight on me, I doubt you will have a problem with your 160 lb DH :grouphug:

Like everyone else said... do what is comfortable. I also kept my hand over my port area the first couple of weeks (Like I could hold it in place if it decided to move?)

Just stop if your body is telling you to.

HAVE FUN!!! :huggie:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
