First off thank you all for listening. I really enjoy having a forum that I can come to. I a just wondering. I am a week out and I just introduced full liquids into my diet. I can't differentiate the feelings in my belly, there is a growl and a rumble and sometimes I feel hungry and others it passes. I just had my gall bladder out in Feb also so that could be a lot of it. My insides screaming WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME LOL! However, how much should I be eating say of the 100 calorie fat free greek yogurt. A whole small container? A half? Just want to make sure that I have the most success!

Right he gave me instructions but he didn't give me an amount per serving or sitting. Just wondering. Thank you!

Once I healed I ate pretty much like normal because I didn't have any restriction. The more restriction I got the less I ate. Trying to eat like your band is working when it's not actually working yet is like trying to drive your car to work without starting the engine...you probably won't make it very far and you'll just be frustrated the more you try ;)

I am just really trying to learn all these noises and pains and things in my stomach. Is it hunger, is it digestion, is it my body saying what the heck did you do? I don't know I guess I am just having an overwhelming day. I came back to work today so I have been trying to make it through the day. I am just glad that I can come and vent or talk and ask questions.

The growling may decrease as time goes by but it may always be with you. One of the side-effects of the band. It usually has nothing to do with hunger. It's just there.

My stomach growled for two months. Before, during, and after eating. But it stopped as suddenly as it started.

Try to limit yogurt to 8 oz. at a time. Light and fit dannon 2x Protein is my fav for only 80cal.

Love that you and your stomach ARE CONVERSING!! Too funny. : )

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
