Good job with the protein!!! I'm only getting about 250-300 calories in a day.

Do you have an idea about how much food we can take in as far as ounces?

My nutri said no more than a cup per meal. So 8oz. Means u have to drink all day to get enough liquid.< /p>

Good for you with the Isopure I can only have a few sips of Water before I am full and don't want to continue. Im gonna look into the Protein Shots someone mentioned that they bought off Amazon. That way I get the Protein but don't have to drink a lot with it because it gets dreadful

U wanna keep liquids coming in tho - ward off dehydration. I sip all day long.

My pee is super clear with the Water and broth. Still have bad gas I feel it moving around but doesn't come out. I had some nice burps but most my gas pain is low I tried rocking a little to work the gas put and nothing and one do anything to help aid that? Also I read pain medication binds people up and makes them constipated

I would say no. I needed to pass gas in order to get relief from the pain. Make sure you have an ice pack and a heating pad!!!!!

I put the heating on my shoulder because I had gas trapped and it hurt sooooooo bad and ice on my tummy.

I agree gas x did nothing for me either. It is simethicone and suppose to break up the bubbles , but I found walking worked much better. One thing no one told me about was that I was not going to be able to put my bra on to go home. Still have not put it on as one of my incisions is right on the band line. Not sure what I will do when I go back to work on Monday. Probably a tight camisole under my shirt. So glad I have my own office !

I have been wearing a sports bra since the night of my surgery. It has helped a lot. I just make sure the band is pulled up high enough to not touch the upper most incision. Before that my boob was pressing on the incision and causing pain.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
