Date set: July 11th - any other July banders?

Recommended Posts

Going to sleep thinking today was easier than yesterday. Praying I don't dream of food/have nightmares of failing again tonight. This is such a mind game! Lol.

Pre-op diet day 3: here we go.

I finished day 9 of my 10 day pre-op diet. Tomorrow is the last day before my surgery!!! I'm so excited and yet it seams unreal. This has been a 7 month journey for me and the surgery always seems so far in the future. Even with it being a little over 1 day away it seems so far. Tomorrow I am going to finish laundry, pack my hospital overnight bag, make sure the house is 100% in shape and get ready for the big day!

My surgery date is July 11th too. I see a few have posted about pre-op liquid diet. My doctor put me on a 1200 calorie diet. Why the difference?

liquid diet is mainly Protein Shakes and some add in fresh veggies. I am on something similar to you. I can eat up to 1100 calories on a high protein/low carb diet. Each surgeon is different so follow what yours recommends.

Im on day two. This is pretty tough. But I know we can do it. I was dreaming about eating a cheeseburger that had pineapple in it. Yuck!! Lol. I don't even like pineapple. No idea where that came from. Good luck:)

Can anyone recommend a good apple app for food tracking. I'm starting my 2 week diet today. I think I'll need some help.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
