KarenElaine 44 Posted June 5, 2013 I look at these yoga classes and shows and what not and can't understand how I'm supposed to try these positions being "obese". I'm not a swan I'm a whale.
stacyjo615 2 Posted June 5, 2013 Try to look for classes or shows that have modified moves. The instructor at a local fitness center where I'm at does that. She is, of course, in excellent shape, but not everyone in the class is, so she always shows at least 2 or 3 different variations of some of the more complex poses for people who aren't as flexible. Don't give up on it though...yoga is my absolute favorite workout. I have come a really long way since I have started doing it and I can get my body into better positions than some of the smaller ladies in my class. I kind of look at it as an NSV Good luck! 1 KarenElaine reacted to this
mrsto 2,925 Posted June 5, 2013 Another option is Chair Yoga. The positions are modified to be done while sitting in a chair, or using it for support. If you Google chair yoga, a lot of stuff will come up; You Tube videos, dvd's, etc. 1 KarenElaine reacted to this
