weird question for women...

Does anyone get REALLY hungry when it's time for mother nature every month? I do, which I've gotten used to. BUT! I just got another fill 10 days ago (I'm now at 7 cc in a 10 cc band), and I stay hungry!! What is up with that??

Don't mistake being hungry for a craving. Sometimes I get a craving around my t.o.m. and just need a taste of something sweet or salty and am not truly hungry. This is a true learning experience for us all!!

My weakness is chocolate and it gets really bad around that time for sure!

I'm 10 days post-op and was doing great! My t.o.m has joined me and I could not stop snacking on sweets today!! Ugh.... In the long run I think 1-2 days a month is gonna kill me since I'm generally a compliant person. But, dang it was a serious craving day today... Damn hormones lol.

Well I'm sorry that you all are suffering too during this lovely time of the month, but I'm glad I'm not alone :). This truly sucks! It seems like it gets worse every month. I'm looking for the "green zone" with every fill, so being so hungry after this last one has had me concerned....

I tell ya I was done having kids being in my late forties but I had a uterine ablation to stop my periods. Best thing I ever did and it was outpatient with no after effects at all

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
