My hubby is very supportive, but this weekend he said "we have to go out to eat, or I'm going to die". Lol, he is NOT going to die, but I can see his point. Any good eating out suggestions?

Go wherever he wants, let him get whatever he wants and you do what your suppose to. Get Soup, maybe a healthier appetizer. A little bit of anything is OK.

Ruby Tuesday has got healthy sides now.....and the selection is pretty good for someone on a diet.

If you are at the regular food stage, there are tons of places to eat out... as long as you stay with fish, chicken or even beef in your small portion and stay away from Pasta, rice and bread you will do fine. I have eaten at Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, Ruby Tuesdays and Red Robins since being banded and I did fine... My husband can eat anything and everything , he never gains weight in fact his Dr wants him to gain so I just have to ignore what he eats and not worry about him.. You can do it...You may have to remind him that you are getting healthier and happier and I am sure he will be supportive.

Sashimi is always one of my favs when eating out...low calorie and high Protein. Also a cup of miso Soup with it is healthy!

I will have just the insides of a sandwich and fruit or veggies. I've had mushoo pork and ate only one and took the rest home for another meal. At Mimi's I ordered the Soup and 1/2 sandwich. I had the potroast sandwich and put the meat into my small cup of french onion soup.

Ok so here goes nothing I have only been banded for almost 2 weeks now and it is miserable and I am not sure I can do it. My fullness feeling has left me for about 3 days now and I felt like I could eat things that were not on my diet. I am worried I have caused a problem for my self I did call my doctor about the feeling of no fullness and he said that was normal. But he does not know I have completely screwed up my diet already not really portion size I think that is still about right but I can drink lots and no problems and have been drinking pretty normal maybe not quite as much but some what. I am afraid to tell him I have done this and that I have messed my band up .Did anyone else feel this way before your first fill and what did you eat the everyday stuff not follow the diet progression and are you ok .Do you think if I stop I will be ok or does anyone think I should be worried or what I am lost and scared please help me I love to eat and now without the restriction it is hard to only drink liquids and I am not sure I am strong enough please help me ....I also have ate some pizza just 1 piece and that was just the top layer and no crust or underneath and I also have eaten some chips that one hurt a little wont do that again. This is hard watching everyone else go on as normal while u eat nothing just drink what should I do .................

bnrguy34 I feel your pain. I am at the smooth food stage and gave in to my temptations. I had pizza, popcorn and ice cream all on the same day. I got quite a few inbox messages from people who did the exact same thing but were afraid to tell. Reality is we love our food, that's why we needed the surgery, right? Just dust yourself off, start following your diet again and keep in mind that this way of eating is not forever, just use these stages as time to learn to eat again (smaller portions, slower and chew, chew chew) once you start solid foods, thing should change (hopefully) and when you get your adjustments it will get much easier. But don't feel bad, it happens, just get back on it.

I, too, CAN eat anything (no restriction yet), but I DON'T! Trust me, not because I don't want to, but I just made a major investment in my health. I want to run and play with my son forever. I want to shop at a regular store in the mall, not just the plus sizes. I want to eat a slice of pizza and not hate myself later. Hubby's moto is "tomorrow is a new day"! Get up, dust off, and start tomorrow new!

Hey I really appreciate the feedback I when I posted this I also went on the live chat and was met with a bunch of people who were not very supportive and said nothing that will help me.Just negative and asked me if I had a mental screen before surgery so made me feel crazy on top of everything else. just wanted to say thanks for the kind and helpful words and not make me feel like a failure . We are addicted to food if I could control my eating I would not have needed this surgery I was just surprised with the comments from everyone earlier thanks a lot hockey I really needed this . Hope you have a wonderful day and all goes well with your progress.

I was banded on May 7 and just hit 30 pounds lost yesterday. My doctor released me to a regular food diet on Friday. He had me devise a meal plan consisting of five different meals for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner to see if I understood how and what to eat. I have eaten out even when I was on the liquid phase and review the menu online prior to going to the restaurant. Personally I try to stay away from chain restaurants because one they are usually inferior and two they are all cookie cutter. I prefer a chef driven restaurant where they can modify the food as needed. My wife and I usually split meals which gives the correct portion and the pounds are still melting away. My surgeon and I both are foodies and discuss it often. He does cooking shows and prefers sous vide style. I hope this helps!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
