I'm on day 5 of my liquid diet and it is difficult in only allowed to have the slim time shakes 3 times a day and low glycemic veggies. Raw or steamed. For myself adding instant coffee to the shakes makes them tasty and adding mrs dash no salt seasoning makes the steamed veggies bearable .

I am on day 12 and I have found it. To be much more of a mental challenge and less physical. I too am on a 3 week liquid diet. I rarely feel hungry, but do have cravings from time to time. I also find my sense of smell much keener now. When I get tempted I drink more Water and it helps a lot.

Crystal light helps me with my sugar cravings as well :)

I had to do the liquid diet before my surgery for 10 days. I drank a lot of tea, which helped me and I was told that I could have sugar free popsicles which really helped.

It's weird we have the same dr and he didnt require me to do a pre op diet at all... Which I thought was odd...

I add the coffee to chocolate and also peppermint extract and then tons if ice and the shake becomes as thick as McDonalds. I have one every day for Breakfast When I get a fill I have to do 3 days of shakes so then I have 4 of them. Good luck!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
