The Coconut Diet

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, this Coconut Diet was an annoying Internet Pop-up that I used to get all my friends to say HI to me since I'm hardly ever around LBT any more. I haven't even read it (nor will I) but it got you to my thread! How is everyone? Everything's peaches & rock n' roll at my end, though I could use more sleep and time. LOVE YOU!

The Coconut Diet

Coconuts are a way of life for millions of people around the world today in tropical climates. Known as the "tree of life," the wonderful fruit of the coconut palm is rich in specific fats that have incredible health benefits. Traditional tropical populations that consume a lot of coconut oil are seldom overweight, and traditionally have been free from the modern diseases that afflict most western cultures.

The Coconut Diet picks up where traditional diets fail. Low-fat diets don't work. The body needs a proper balance of good fats, but in recent years traditional, healthy saturated fats have been substituted with harmful transfatty acids in the US food industry. We now know that these harmful transfatty acids that are found in most vegetable oils are not the healthy oils they were once thought to be, and they are considered one of the major culprits in modern diseases and obesity. The Coconut DietTM replaces these highly refined harmful fats with one of the healthiest fats known to mankind: coconut oil.

The Coconut DietTM is a not one specific diet plan, but a way of life! Most diet plans are temporary and tell you exactly which foods to eat, how much to eat, how to count calories or carbs, etc. Statistics prove that those starting diet plans are usually doomed to failure before they even start, because while they may temporarily lose weight on specific diet plans, they will almost always regain that weight and more as soon as they stop using the diet plan. Our goal here is to educate you on the truth about how fats and oils affect your weight and health, and give you the knowledge you need to make basic dietary changes in your life that will give you optimal health, and that should continue as long as you live. We have seen traditional people in the tropics follow these dietary principles and live very long, healthy lives with coconut oil as the main dietary oil in their diet. The principles of The Coconut DietTM can be incorporated into any other major diet plan.

Within this website you will find many ways to incorporate coconut oil into your daily diet, and you will read about the science behind the diet with links to the research that backs up the wonderful truth about this incredible oil.

Theresa: This Diet Has Given Me Renewed Energy and A New Life!

I have been taking a tablespoon of coconut oil three times daily with meals. Taking the oil with my meals seems to give me a “full feeling” a lot faster. My sweet tooth has practically vanished—and this is from someone who should have bought stock in Hershey's long ago! Ironically, facilitating weight loss was my main reason for trying the coconut oil diet, but with all the wonderful benefits I am experiencing, the weight loss aspect almost seems like an afterthought. About three days into the routine, I had an energy rush on a Saturday morning that kept me going until well after lunch. I can’t believe how much I got done that day! My mental state of mind seemed to be much sharper. I was able to focus on the tasks at hand without getting sidetracked. I was not exhausted at the end of running my errands, which included traipsing around a huge mall. It seemed like I was practically running, rather than the leisurely walking that was formerly my habit. In addition to my energy level, my mood has been very stable—no up and down mood swings—even with the onset of PMS! My husband commented yesterday on how soft and silky my skin felt, and I have not used any lotion since I started taking the oil. from the Coconut Diet Forums

Yeah, there's a coconut diet, and it can be yours for the bargain price of seventeen easy payments of $19.99!!! I also have a friend who is an African businessman who recently came into a large sum of money and would like to share it with you. Please provide him with your bank account number so that he can wire you over $10 billion (in the currency of Kenyan shillings).

No lie, I once decided to try one of those on-line casinos to see where the hoax was. I made my $25 initial deposit and instantly won $100.00, so I decided to cash out. The process of receiving your money is quite simple, all you do is fax your BANK INFORMATION along with a copy of your photo identification and social security number to AFRICA, and after a bunch of security clearance they mail your gambling winnings.

Who on Earth is stupid enough to fax their photo, signature and bank information to their mother, let alone another country? It was a fun $25.00 but let them keep the $100!

But honestly, where do I sign up for the coconut diet? Actually, isn't coconut a natural diuretic that makes you have poopy drawers if you eat too much?

Have you heard about those fake slot machines they use in non-gambling states? Supposedly, it's kinda like a lottery - you buy a card to use at the machine for however much money you want to play. At that point, your "winnings" are decided. When you plug the card into the slot machine, it's just so you can have the fun of pulling the handle - your odds don't change.

Anyway, I think Dateline did something about this issue, and the people playing at the slots refused to believe that they were being swindled. They were convinced that it was a regular casino, even though regular casinos are illegal in that state.

Gotta love the real Vegas, baby...

OMG, even real machines in Vegas are just a big swindle! That's why they call it "gambling" and why all the casinos are rich and all the gamblers are poor (uh, where did my paycheck go?)

Hey! Good to see ya chicka! I have never heard of the coconut diet. The last time I went to Georgia, I came back with a U-Haul full of books & stuff that my G-ma was getting rid of. Anyway, when I was going through all of it I found a bunch of diet books. LOL! One of them was from the 60s & the title was something like "The Teenage Fad Diet Book". It has tons of different diets in it. Some of them are absolutely rediculous. I thought about burning all of them. LOL! Then I thought that there may be someone out there who wants them. They are destined for Ebay (unless someone here wants them). It's good to hear from you DeLarla! Don't be a stranger!!!

There are a couple of books I bought on the coconut diet...I'll send them to you if you want them. I tried it and I also thought I had more energy and felt better. However, I didn't lose weight, which was the reason I started it. But I also thought it might be worth taking the oil because of the other benefits. I bought mine from Tropical Traditions and loved using it on toast for Breakfast to get in my tablespoon per day. Let us know how it goes...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
