jaye282 79 Posted May 31, 2013 Is it normal to feel real tight restriction after a fill to where everything gets stuck and then a few days later, while eating the same things, it goes down normal without getting stuck? I noticed today everything is going down smoothe and I can eat more today then I could a few days ago. 1 Mizz_Megan reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted May 31, 2013 There is often swelling right after a fill, which is why the docs usually recommend 24 hours of liquids.< /p> 2 mrsto and 2muchfun reacted to this

BacktoDez 14 Posted June 1, 2013 How do you know if the band is too tight? Here's my problem. Whenever I eat something (anything with the exception of lettuce) it hurts. I can eat two bites of a turkey sausage link, and it hurts. I can eat two bites of cottage cheese and it hurts. I give it a few minutes, then I try again. I chew chew chew! I am ok for the next bite or two, then the third one hurts. Sometime it hurts so much I start getting bile in my throat and mouth, and have to spit it up. If I were to eat a half of a chicken breast, it will take me about a half hour. My doc told me to stop eating after 20 minutes. I never feel full only pain. Then an hour or so later, I'm starving! This leads me to think that my band is too tight. Any thoughts?
Mizz_Megan 40 Posted June 1, 2013 Yes. I just had my first fill over a week ago and the first day I thought I would ha e to go back and have them take some out. Over the next day or two the amount I was restricted went down significantly. Now I can eat less but still more than I should.
jaye282 79 Posted June 1, 2013 @ Chicago bears fan - Bear down!! I'm also a huge Bears fan! Id say you are definitely too tight. Go see you doc. Being too tight can lead to your pouch stretching so id definitely try to figure out what's going on. Things are meant to go down the pouch, not come back up, which leads to stretching. Let me know. 2 kll724 and BacktoDez reacted to this
dfav3412 116 Posted June 1, 2013 The band was never meant to restrict the types of foods eaten with the exception of foods that might ball up when chewed liked bread and rice. The purpose of the band isn't to stop you from eating a certain amount although it will, the purpose is for you to eat solid food in the amounts recommened by your bariatrics center and be satisfied until your next meal. The key is to measure and to eat solid food not sliders and in the amounts recommened. If you don't learn this concept then you will never reach the green zone because you will be eating slider foods that will not carry you thru until your next meal. Fills are great when warranted but many times a fill isn't the answer you are seeking. The two big keys are to eat solid foods not soft/mushy foods and the other is to eat the recommened amount of food.
