CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted May 31, 2013 Many people have the band with no fills, some are hungry, one in particular has lost 118 pounds. We are all different. Work with surgeon to find the right fill for you!

stept04 465 Posted June 1, 2013 OK... maybe I am going to sound incredibly stupid here, but I keep seeing the acronym "PB" used on the forums - what does it mean? I gather it is vomiting?? Productive burp, I believe it is when something comes up with your burp. ~~~Stephanie 1 cat whisperer reacted to this

cat whisperer 127 Posted June 1, 2013 Hey, it took me a while to figure out it was something related to bringing up food - don't worry, i saw it used by many other people too but was too embarrassed to ask until today when I finally decided what the heck Wheelcrazy, I can totally see how you thought that it was Peanut Butter, though!! lorac1952 5 Posted June 2, 2013 side note - I was told PB would be out the the question once banded....I know everyone is different' date=' but honestly PB doesn't sound like a good idea....[/quote'] I have the same issues
apangie 1 Posted June 3, 2013 I was banded on May 7 and had trouble eating much of anything for the first 10 days. But unfortunately since then...I can eat just about anything...and TOO MUCH of it. I do get full quicker. I do have to think about my bites and chewing and eat more slowly....but I've not lost any weight since my 1 week post op check up!! I go for my first fill this week on Thursday and I'm more than ready for it! I need restriction in order to fill full quicker and stay feeling satisfied for longer periods of time. Can others tell me how long before you started experiencing steady weight loss?
SueBee01 630 Posted June 4, 2013 Start logging all of your food and exercise. If you are not burning enough calories through exercise it will take longer. I was eating 600 calories and burning 500-700 calories every day. it took me several weeks to see it on the scale. You should be gaining muscle as you go and will notice your clothes getting bigger more then the scale loss! If you can eat solid Protein and feel satisfied, not full, for 3-4 hours you are on the right track. Don't listen to your head! Head hunger is hard to get past. 1 n2myhealth reacted to this
Wanna-Be-Healthy 46 Posted June 5, 2013 I had no restriction before I got fills. However, many people get perfect restriction from just the band alone. I wonder if this will be my case. I am having surgery on Friday and the doc fills the band with 4cc during surgery.
ADJL 685 Posted June 5, 2013 I'm 6 weeks post op and getting my first fill on Friday. I have some restriction in the sense that I can tell when I'm "full" and certain things don't go down very well if I eat too fast. I've had one instance of PB and its not fun...its gross and it HURTS. I'm excited to see what a fill does differently for me. My self discipline only takes me so far... nikkidcas 18 Posted June 5, 2013 I'm 4 weeks postop. As I've healed I feel no restriction. I did well staying under 1,000 calories at first, then I was able to stay around 1,000 calories. But now it's getting harder and harder, yesterday I had 1,600. Little disappointed myself. Trying to stay positive until my first fill next week! And I started walking this week, just 30 minutes a day.
AmineR8705 140 Posted June 5, 2013 I'm two weeks post-op as of yesterday. I haven't had any issues with getting food down but I only have about 0.5-1cc of Fluid in my 10cc band. I do feel a little restriction when I took a big bit of a boiled egg and I got that stuck feeling. Felt a little bit of pressure and burped and a little bit of it came up. It all comes down to taking to big of a bite and eating to fast. Def a learning experience for me and a lesson to not eat fast again! I have my first fill on July 1st and I'm not sure how much Fluid I'm going to get but I'm sure it will be in 1-2cc increments. What I have done since the after surgery was portioned my foods in 1/2 cup containers. It has helped me a lot and preparing myself after I get back onto normal foods! -Amine
