drinking something often helps me the longer you stay stuck the more risk you take for vomiting and colapising your band. So for the long run drink something

drinking will either push the food down, or the liquid will pool in the back of your throat causing us to vomit.

Either way it will stop us from being stuck

According to my doc being stuck for too long is what stretches our pouches

Just curious... how often do you get stuck... I've never been stuck... the only foods I don't eat are rice and apple skins... they go down... but feel strange so I avoid them... everything else is fine. I take really tiny bites and I make sure I finish my first bite before I take my second or third bite.

How many adjustments have you had? I had 4 in total.

Taking a drink is the last thing I would do. Drinking just increases the episode in my opinion and experience. I have had my share of stuck episodes and the two times I did add Fluid it made the pain worse and the vomiting more forceful. Vomiting should be avoided at all costs just as stuck episodes should. It increases chances of a band slip 10 fold.

I would suggest talking to your Doctor about stuck episodes and the recommended action but in my opinion adding Fluid to an already plugged funnel is a no brainer.

What happens when you keep flushing a toilet that is plugged?

When I get stuck I drink hot Anise tea. It always helps. Anise is good to relax and soothe your stomach nerves. You need to sip hot beverages as they will expand your pouch and unstuck you . Good luck.

When I used to get stuck, which was sometimes 2-3 times per day during that learning phase....I would go into the bathroom and sip warm water...since I was stuck and nothing is going to pass, sipping Water results in it all coming back up....

I know a lot of people who carry papaya enzymes with them...I never tried it.

BTW, I have never vomited from being stuck....

Well, I'm stuck right now nothing is working... But here's what I usually do...

First stop, try drinking something hot to listen the band. If that doesn't work, raise my arms above my head and then touch my toes a few times. Sometimes I make myself throw up.

Tonight, don't know. I'm just in pain!!!!!! Nothing's working. ;-(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
