Hi everyone,

I just wanted to stop in and share a few photos. I know how much it helped for me to follow you guys. I'm only 5 days out and still very swollen but I'm feeling stronger each day.

I will say the first 24 hours were very ROUGH!! It took a little time for me to get the pain under control, but by day 3 I started to feel like I might actually survive.

Im scheduled for a breast reduction/lift on June 5. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Inspiring photos! I really want the Tummy Tuck but I am a little afraid my insurance won't cover the cost. What makes it medically necessary?

Unfortunately mine was not covered by insurance???ž

I think if a policy covers plastic surgery at all (many DONT), they very in what they will consider as medically necessary. Most require documented back problems, rashes, hernias things of this nature as well as the sagging skin must hang below the pubic area. Some even have a clause saying a specific weight loss that is required.

Yes. I'm only a week out so it still feels that way. A large area around my belly button to my public area still feels numb. Think of how your mouth feels after novocaine but on a lot larger scale. It does feel hard to me but my husband says it feels natural to him... So I guess it is just where the nerves have been cut and are healing.

You look great. I am 6 months post TT and my abdomen is still numb in that area. It is a weird feeling but its worth it. My surgeon said that there is a possibility that the feeling will never come back...

Tell me QT, how long was it before you felt normal. You know, No more pain and could do what you wanted without pain returning. I'm not quite 2 weeks out but still look a little uneven.

I personally remember feeling almost back to normal between 2-3 months post-op. I don't recall exactly when, but I know that around this time I was just starting to be able to lie on my stomach for the first time, which wasn't really painful, but more of a weird feeling. By the third month post-op, I had been cleared medically so I was able to finally get to the gym. I have been going to the gym since, and have found no pain at all. Every once in a while, I'll wake up and feel a little swollen still (from humidity, rain, etc.) but it's more of a stiffness than a pain (and its usually only in my lower back where my surgeon did a little lipo). I hope this helps. Don't get discouraged because honestly, it is all worth it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
