I'm just curious about scaring and hope you all can share your bandscar stories with me. It's hard to believe but I have no scars on my stomach - no stretch marks (even though I have had a baby), no blemishes, nothing...it's perfect - although fluffy. I'm a bit concerned about how many marks were made during your surgery and how did they heal? If you are completely healed, is there a scar? I know everyone is different, so all input is welcomed!

The number of scars varies by surgeon, ask your what his approach is. I had five and they are all but gone now. I can wear a two piece without feeling like Frankenstein! LOL!

DANG YOUR LUCKY!!! 3 kids, 1 C-section later and a hysterectomy, scars are the least of my worries, But it all depends I have 5- 2 about 1 inch and the other 3 barely there..And yes they all fade. You can use sesame seed oil (capsules @ GNC etc..), and a laser pointer for 5 mins at a time per day to fade them quicker. I had 2 different doctors recommended this to me, and it doesn't have to be new scars. BUT I'd wait at least 1 month post -op.

I'm more than five months post op and mine are still nice and ugly. :-(

I'm very fair skinned though and expected it. I've even had scar tissue freckle.

But since you've had minimum scarring in the past, you'll probably be fine.

I had 5 post op, now there is 1 that is very, very tiny. The more you lose, the tinier it becomes. I used a little Vitamin E from a capsule.

My stomach is a maze of scars.... Gallbladder surgery, a c section and lapband...

I think I had 4 or so from my band. My port scar is the biggest. It's pretty noticeable. I had my first stomach surgery at age 17 though (I'll be 28 in a couple days) so I've had a lot of time to get used to it. Lol. Also got some semi noticeable stretch marks in that maze. I'll never wear a bikini, but I've accepted. Haha

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
