Yesterday was my grandson's 2nd birthday party. I drove. For some reason I had the radio on. It was a really nice block of good '70's rock. I didn't really realize how good my speakers were! If Larry complained about the loudness' date=' I couldn't hear it. lol[/quote']

Aww how cute, I bet he had a blast. Looks like you found some good walking music. Some iPods you can get the radio on it. Lol about the speakers. When we have been looking at cars we have been checking out the sound, my kids love music and we will be probably be singing a lot on the way to California. Even my son likes to sing, I have videos of him when he was 1 and singing and also dancing. I think it's because I sang to him when he was in my belly and every day of his life. Maybe Larry was rocking out too when you were playing 70s rock....lol

Hi

Is it the insurance company that make you wait 6month and jump through a load of hoops that is madness if you are ready and know what you want and need why are they making you wait. I am in Ireland decided 6 weeks ago I was ready for this had my op yesterday. Mind you I don't have insurance and paid for it myself but I hope it will be worth every penny. I have about 5-6 stone to lose here we go at the beginning.

The hoops I have to jump through are because the insurance company doesn't want to pay for it unless they have to. They do have shareholders to think about. For them, I have to go through each step of trying to lose weight... diet, exercise, medications, nutritionists, etc. Paying for surgery is the last thing they want to do. As for the surgery itself, I think I have to do pre-op stuff that can take time to do.

I think you're right. I have tons of 70's stuff on my computer. Weird obscure stuff. lol Yeah, Larry and I like the same music. I'm sure he sang along with Comfortably Numb.

I got my grandson a mini-big wheel that looks like a Harley. He loves it. He calls me "Grandpa."

She is. I got really lucky. Even though she's my daughter-in-law' date=' we're really BFF's. hehe[/quote']

That's so cool. I try to have a good relationship with my mother in law, but it's kinda hard since she speaks mainly Spanish. I still talk to here and listen when she needs someone to talk to. I need to take some Spanish classes, my mom speaks Spanish, but never taught me or my sister. When we move I probably will take up Spanish classes and have my husband help me...lol

What a nightmare for you. I had heard that its hard to get pregnant when you have endometriosis' date=' and also when you take the depo shot. We got lucky that her's was in stage one. The surgeon came out and talked with me and Amy's fiance. He showed us the pictures and told us he got it all, but that it looks like she may be developing more. He said that he wanted her doctor to put her on a medication that would send her into early menopause (she's 29) which would stop her periods so that she wouldn't be at risk. I thought that was a bit of overkill. She's discussed it with Justin and me, and she said she'd rather do the depo. I don't know what she plans for right now. She's weighing her options.

I think its wonderful that you got your miracle baby! I love the name, especially for a boy. I hope you're able to have another down the road.

I made a huge pot of chicken and noodles. Justin and Amy have been eating it since Friday. lol Justin loves my cooking. He's a good boy. Been taking care of her really well. I think I like this one.

Linda[/quote']

Yeah my endometriosis got pretty bad, but with the depo shot I have no pain. If she doesn't plan on having kids within the next year I would recommend the depo shot.

Thank You. I Love my baby and hope that he will have a sibling around his age to grow up with like my daughters had each other.

It's so wonderful that your son and daughter found such wonderful people to share their lives with. I think it's even cooler that they have good relationships with you as well. Now I want to make chicken noodle Soup. I have never made chicken noodle Soup, but I make a good beef stew.

Yes unfortunately the insurance makes you wait 6 months, at least some are 6 months other insurance requirements are less. They want to make sure that you really want it and they make you see a physician every month and he has to put reasons why he thinks you should get the surgery along with recording your weight and blood pressure. They also have you see a nutritionist to learn how to eat right that way you can prepare yourself for change. They even have you see a phycologist to make sure you are mentally prepared.

Congrats on your op!!! I wish you a speedy recovery.

I think its nice you want to make that effort. There's so much hype about how mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law have bad relationships. It doesn't make sense for me to have a bad relationship with Chasity. She has three of my grandchildren. I like to foster our relationship whenever I can. Also, she had a really REALLY bad mother, so I try to be someone she can look up to.

I hear Rosetta Stone is good for learning Spanish. I think there might be some free online programs too. Good luck with it. I hope it comes easy to you.

My daughter is of the mind of if she has kids fine, if not, that's fine too. She has her kids at school, and Justin doesn't care one way or another. Hopefully, you'll have an easy time of getting pregnant. Planning pregnancies can be difficult. Randy and Chasity planned Corbin. She took her temperature, charted her ovulation, and since they wanted a boy, they tried different *methods* to get one. lol I think they just got lucky. They swear the planning worked.

Chicken and noodles is so simple to make. I used to make my own noodles, but have found that the wide Amish noodles work just as well. I use a large pot and put in two or three chicken breasts (and then cut them into small pieces when they're done). Then I throw in some celery and baby carrots. As my dad would say, then I "boil the hell out of it." I also use chicken base (powder form, not stock) for extra flavoring. When its done, I put in the noodles and cook those until tender. Larry likes it without the celery and carrots, but then again, he's a wonderful cook in his own right. His specialty is vegetable soup. Its different ever time, but its always awesome. There's a lot of leeway making it that way. You can add whatever you want to, to make it your own.

Getting really anxious about going to the class Thursday night. I'm looking forward to it, but the fear of the unknown is too much. I always like to be in control of what happens with me. Not knowing what to expect is strange. I'm sure they won't kill me or anything, but I am out of my confort zone in the not knowing department. Trying to keep myself busy. Maybe I'll do research on the hospital's program. That always makes me feel better.

On a happier note, my 50th birthday coming up. I'm throwing my own party. Nothing elegant. lol It will be a beach party barbeque with just my close family and neighbors. I've planned lots of stuff for the grandkids, and probably spent too much, but you only turn 50 once. Still have two weeks to go. Lots of stuff left to do (and to occupy my mind). Cleaning, preparing, menu stuff.

Ok, so it wasn't so bad. I was doing my research to calm my nerves when I found out that I had the option of taking the course online. I called and cancelled my in person appointment, and just did it online. Looks like the ball is starting to roll. I filled out the questionaire at the end, and contacted the coordinator. I'm just waiting now on my evaluation appointment. I should have an appointment for that by the end of the day.

Here we go.

Spent the better part of the week in the hospital with severe palpitations. Had every test known to man, but they can't figure me out. I think its the new med for HBP they were giving me. I'm home now. Still unknowing, still scared. Can't see my doctor until next week. Resting until then.

I have always wanted a big family and its nice to have my husbands family. I want to have a good relationship with them, I love their son. I don't get why either that daughter in laws or mother in laws don't get along especially when children are involved. That sucks about her mother, but so wonderful that she has you.

I have seen the Rosetta Stone software at this store on base, I will have to get that after we move. Sorry I have been off this site for awhile, I was really sick and then had a lot going on. Still feeling sick and I have to get another surgery for my back, but I will see about that when we move.

Well then at least your daughter will be happy either way. My husband thinks his different methods like drinking coffee help by giving is a son....lol.... I think it was luck to......lol

Wow you even made your own noodles, very impressive, I wouldn't know where to begin. I'm going to try to make chicken noodle Soup, but in the crock pot when we move. I love the way beef stew taste after sitting in the crock pot over night or throughout the day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
