Nenny101 27 Posted May 28, 2013 Hello ladies! I am a few days post op and I was curious about medications... I have been crushing my pills and taking with juice. I was wondering if anyone takes "the pill" or something similarly small without crushing it? Also do any of you take capsules? Reactions? Thanks for the input girls! pkchop 58 Posted May 28, 2013 You need to ask your Dr. I was told as long as it is as small as my pinky nail I could take it with no trouble. I take a thyroid pill every day.
DeeW99 7 Posted May 28, 2013 I am on day 4 and just spoke with the nurses at the clinic who said I could try and take my meds now without crushing them if they were not too big. She also said if they give me problems to try again in a couple of days.

JACKIEO85 308 Posted May 28, 2013 Wow that greeting was sexist! ...hahah just teasing before the MEN do I provided a link to Meds that aren't supposed to be crushed, but I'd ask the Doc. The other advise is Great as well about size, some days a certain med will go down and other times it "might" give you a problem, and some I've heard we banders aren't supposed to take because it can sit in the pouch and cause problems sorry I can't think of anything besides NSAID's at the moment. https://www.ismp.org/tools/DoNotCrush.pdf 1 NJDad reacted to this

Luka Beth 78 Posted May 28, 2013 Hi nenny, My doctor said to stop birth control pills for two months after surgery because they increase your chance of clots. You really need to check with your doctor though.
