lilmispcl 298 Posted May 27, 2013 I am wondering which mayo u successful bandsters use for things like chicken salad and egg salad? I am about out of light mayo and was wondering what people think of the fat free or the olive oil type?
mrsto 2,925 Posted May 27, 2013 I use Best Foods (Hellman's) Light mayo. LOVE it! It's 35 calories per tablespoon, and works great in everything I've used it for. I think the answer to your question is, if you use full fat mayo, just be sure to count the calories. I avoid it now, because I don't get enough bang for my buck (so to speak). 2 lilmispcl and sapcat54 reacted to this

mrsto 2,925 Posted May 27, 2013 I've had fat free before, and hate it. It doesn't give the creaminess of the regular or low fat. I ended up throwing it out. BUT, that's not to say that you won't like it. Maybe pick up the smallest jar and see what you think 2 TheCurvyMermaid and Hooghunt reacted to this

DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted May 27, 2013 I use the fat free but I add a little mustard to it. It gives a little tang. I use it in chicken and tuna salad all the time. 1 Hooghunt reacted to this
Luka Beth 78 Posted May 27, 2013 I use regular helmans but do it half and half with Fage 0% Greek yogurt. Its actually super creamy and I've used it to make chicken salad, Pasta salad, and pimento cheese. I dont like the taste and texture of the lite mayos, and this helps to reduce the amount used and adds some extra Protein.< /p> 1 lilmispcl reacted to this

this sucks 557 Posted May 27, 2013 I really like the Kraft Olive oil mayo. Great flavor and nutritional bang for your buck.
CAROLYNFC 24 Posted May 27, 2013 I have used FF Kraft mayo for years. It isn't bad!! My husband and 5 year old also use it.
dawalsh 919 Posted May 28, 2013 Hey, I will ONLY use Hellman's regular or light. If you gave me a blind taste test I would be able to tell the difference. I don't use a lot of mayo because of the fat and calories in the regular Hellman's but I can't use any other brand. If I'm in a restaurant I try not to order anything that is mayo based like tuna or chicken salad. I usually order Condiments on the side anyway. I'm not into fat free mayo from Hellman's but the light and regular I prefer.
taylor1989 131 Posted May 28, 2013 I used the olive oil type pre band and loved it
blondegal_ 1,028 Posted May 28, 2013 I use Fage Greek 0% yogurt and some mustard in all salad type mixtures. The few times I've eaten a sandwich I just used mustard. Before banding I would use the reduced fat but found the non-fat just didn't have the same consistency or texture or something. 1 lilmispcl reacted to this
GuyMontag 1,264 Posted May 28, 2013 I have found that fat free isn't as effective for me as low carbs for weight loss. I choose regular olive oil mayo the most. 1 this sucks reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted May 28, 2013 I too use regular mayo and focus on limiting carbs. It is what works for me.
