I'm curious to know approximately how many carbs everyone has on a daily basis. Also, would you mind sharing an example menu for a day? I'm tying to change mine around so I can get back on track.

Thanks :)

I don't count carbs. I make sure to get in at least 60g of Protein daily, limit fat to 20-25%, and stick to 1200 calories or less but I don't limit carbs. I just make sure the carbs I'm eating are healthy ones. For instance, if the bread/pasta/rice is white, says the word "enriched" or "bleached" I don't buy it. I buy whole grain/whole wheat breads and Pasta and use brown rice.

It's worked very well for me.

I use myfitnesspal and personalized the daily amounts. I put in a goal of 1100 calories with at least 80g of Protein. That then showed about 110g for carbs. But looking back over the past two weeks, I'm all over the place with days of 30, 60, or 80. But for the most part I don't go over. I do try to watch my sugar numbers closely though. I just don't seen to lose if I get too many sugars.

All white carbs are trigger foods for me, so I avoid them.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
