Honey were killing the kids

Recommended Posts

i don't like it. i think they are too cheeky with the different future possibilities. Just cause your kid eats junk now does not mean that he is never going to shave, not cut his hair, and have tape on his glasses and wear dirty clothes in the future. Its just a bit silly to me. Plus I think they need to spend more than just 3 weeks with the families.

Now yes, I think there is a problem with the way kids are being raised today, but lets try showing parents in a realistic light. How about just basic comparrison to healthy kids. Their cholesterol, sleep patterns, nutrient levels in the blood, fat percentage, etc.

but i guess someone got a new toy for graduating their imaging class and wanted to have some fun with it. LOL

I thought some of it was really good. I could not believe how much junk those kids were eating, but the pictures looked way horrible. The fat pictures nobody was smilling, then the skin 40 year pics all big smiles. I am sure I will watch it again, mainly because I have kids that I think eat too much junk, and don't get active enough.

Ya, Ive seen this show too. I have to agree with what I heard on another tv show about this one, "They make all the kids look like 40 year old serialkillers". (HAHA at first I typed cerealkillers...Im sure there that too LOL)

I dont like the age images.

My daughter likes this show though, she cant believe theres kids out there that wont eat vegies or fruits and I think she like seeing how the kids react to no tv no computer kinda stuff.

Last nights show she said was a good idea to give all that junk away at fleamarket instead of trashing it.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
