kll724 3,055 Posted May 27, 2013 Best to check with your surgeon's office. Mine suggested only walking for the 1st 6 weeks., but, yours might say different. A lot of surgeons say different things, so best to check with yours. karen 1 stept04 reacted to this
stept04 465 Posted May 27, 2013 My doc does not want me doing anything but walking till 4 weeks post-op. I agree with Karen you should probably ask your Doc. ~~~Stephanie
KAATNS 1,473 Posted May 27, 2013 That sounds a little early to be running, but check with your doctor. I was able to fully run at about 6 weeks without any pain.
vachik89 4 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm still not able to run yet - I find walking briskly much much easier. A far as port pain, I learned not to bounce in trampoline with kids, even now9 wks post surgery.
Creekwood 702 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm three weeks post-op and walk/jog 6 days a week (starting last week). My doc allows it and I've had 0 problems. BUT, I've only jogged a few times and its for very short spurts of time followed by fast paced walking. Ask your doc, good luck!!! 1 everydayigiveitmybest reacted to this

brad95 2 Posted May 29, 2013 I started jog/walking at about 10 days post op, with the doctor's blessing. I have my first post op visit on Thursday. Feels good so far (well, as good as running can feel at 300 lbs 1 Rmdaniel reacted to this
Soulshine76 11 Posted May 29, 2013 I've been walking on my treadmill everyday since 1 week post op and then added in jogging at 2 weeks post op. My doctor just said if it hurts then stop.
Hampsters 0 Posted May 30, 2013 I was walking the day after surgery. I ended up doing a half marathon a month after surgery. My doc had no problems with me doing cardio that early. The only restrictions were weights and ab workouts for a month.
