Creekwood 702 Posted May 27, 2013 I wish that I remembered more, I need to have him make me a binder. He gave one to all of the brothers, not sure what happened to my Dad's when he passed. I just remember that we have Native Americans in our family tree and somehow it was connected to Matoaka aka Pocahontas. So I was related to the lady who had the first interracial marriage in the United States Another cool thing they did was track down a school that my great great great grandmother taught at hundreds of years ago. It was in a tiny village in Kentucky, about the size of an average shed (literally). But, it was still standing (barely!), and was really cool to see. It's a neat site, I suggest that you give it a try. BUT, to make real progress you must put in a considerable amount of time. Unless, someone in your family has already put together some pieces I the site. 2 pastor o and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
n2win 123 Posted July 28, 2013 My dad has ALWAYS been into the genealogy Quest.... LOL, one if his favorite quotes is by Mark Twain, it was something like: It took me a lifetime to search my family tree and then I spent a fortune trying to keep it buried! In fact, as I recall, that was the only reason my dad ever bought a computer, then after he reached a stopping point in his genealogy research, he said the computer was useless and sold it... cracks me up...LOL (currently he is 80 and this reminded me that I need to give him a call) 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
