Jennifer Hodge 41 Posted May 26, 2013 I had a hernia repair and my lapband placed on Tuesday May 21st. The first few days I was just taking my pain meds and sleeping a lot. On Saturday things changed for the worse! Ugh... I tried to go yard saling with my mom and not even 20 minutes into it I started getting dizzy, nauseous and I started sweating really bad. So I got into the car and had her crank up the AC and get me home. I then slept for 3-4 hours. When I got up I was drenched in sweat and felt the need to throw up. I've heard of the band slipping from throwing up so I was really scared. Eventually I just had to get it out. I puked for what seemed like 30 seconds... Then my stomach started RUMBLING! I've never heard of a rumble so LOUD. I think you can hear it from the other room. This rumbling has continued through the night and into today. I am on my two-week liquid post-op diet. I've been having broth, Water, propel zero, Protein Shakes, and sf Jello. So I don't think that it's from the lack of liquids. On top of the awful rumbling and the weird movements coming from my stomach I have had horrible diarrhea for the past few days. I've taking imodium and gas x and nothing seems to be working. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? Any advice as to how to get rid of them? I am going to call my Dr. first thing Tuesday morning but I was hoping to find some in-home remedies. DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted May 26, 2013 I know this will sound weird, but it does sound like you may have gotten a little dehydrated. Your body uses a lot more Fluid when you're healing so you need to be sipping Water almost constantly right now. As far as nausea and vomiting, it's a good thing you're calling your doctor on Tuesday. In the meantime they do make OTC anti-nausea meds in liquid form. You can find it at most pharmacies and it can help. Plus, your surgery was just 5 days ago. I'm sure your body is still very weak and you still need a lot of rest. Listen to your body- if you need to sit, then sit. If you need to sleep, then sleep. It'll probably be a good 4 weeks (maybe even 6 weeks) before you're fully back to your normal energy levels again, 2 stept04 and zinhaa reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted May 26, 2013 I agree with Missy... it is serious surgery and normal to have to take time to get back up to full speed. Wishing you well. I hope your doctor can set you straight. 1 stept04 reacted to this
