Ask your doctor. Only he can answer that.

Figured maybe someone else was on the same boat as me. Thanks anyway

You might ask your pharmacy if that script is available in liquid form. My doctor said no pills bigger than a pencil eraser, but my band isn't that restrictive.... yet.

My wife takes a very large number of pills, and she had WLS after I decided to have my surgery. She would have had the lapband, but due to the larger number of medications she had to take, our surgeon strongly favored VSG over the lap band. He mentioned that some of his lapband patients were filling up on pills!!!!

You have prescribed Vitamins? My doctor just asked me to use kids vits, either chewable or gummies. All the meds I have are like that, antiacid, vits, Calcium and I just started Biotin - will try anything to make sure I lose the least amount of hair, lol. Ask him if gummies or chewables are ok. Not sure why you have prescription ones, maybe because you need a higher concentration or for the Iron, but mine have Iron. I got them at Walmart, they are called active kids complete, and you only need one according to the instructions.

Wow, I can't believe this because I'm not having a problem swallowing any pills. Then again, I feel no restriction yet. I crushed my pills for a month after surgery (12/28/12), I started taking a chewable multi Vitamin from the. Get go but I take 5 pills a day and they are pretty big in size. I'm hoping there is nothing wrong with me because I have no problem swallowing pills.

The biggest pill I've taken is a full size Vicodin but maybe it's just me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
