Wanna-Be-Healthy 46 Posted May 25, 2013 Hi everyone, I know the shakes, Jello, and broth are allowed. My doctor ever allows veggies I've heard. Is yogurt allowed? Anything else? 1 PrettyThick1 reacted to this
stept04 465 Posted May 25, 2013 I think you would have to ask your Dr.. Everybody's pre-op can be different. Like I can have 4 Protein shakes, 1 Protein Bar, and any Clear liquids with no sugar, that includes Jello. So your Dr. might not allow a Protein bar or he may allow something I can't have. Hope this helped. Good luck. I'm on day 5. ~~~Stephanie 3 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, PrettyThick1 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted May 25, 2013 You have to ask your doctor because they all vary greatly. 2 stept04 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
JACKIEO85 308 Posted May 25, 2013 it varies greatly ... mine just said all liquids and ONE 300 calorie or less meal like Lean Cuisine Daily. Ck the pre-op diet in my signature line, that might help 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Wanna-Be-Healthy 46 Posted May 25, 2013 Why should it vary? If it's the same procedure then it should be consistent, no?
mrsto 2,925 Posted May 25, 2013 No, it's not consistent. And you will find that from beginning to end as you participate in these forums. My pre-op diet was two weeks at 1200 calories per day - low fat. I was on full liquids for only two days pre-op. Then, Clear Liquids for two days after surgery, then moved to full liquids for another 10 days. Then mushy foods, and every 7-10 days something else was added. I've read of people being on full foods within two weeks. Not much progression, other than liquids right afterwards. Then some had to stay on clear liquids for a full month post-op. Every doctor has their own spin on this part, and it's just important that you follow what YOUR doctor prescribes. Don't get thrown off by what you read here. It can be confusing, but you chose your doctor for this procedure, and need to lean on him and his staff for guidelines. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted May 25, 2013 def agree with mis and msinto and jack and steph, your dr is the one to answer this as he may want you on total liquid or a variance..just depends, not really an answer to your question 1 mrsto reacted to this
