s0utherndivadoll 103 Posted May 24, 2013 I was disqualified with the beachbody challenge because of lapband surgery. Nothing states In their rules about weight loss surgery and I used their program to maximum my weightloss. I'm devasted. I lost a total of 170lbs but frown upon Because I had a surgery that saved my life. What's Eveeryones thoughts on this..I wanna know..
stept04 465 Posted May 24, 2013 That seems unfair. So if you dieted and worked out and lost weight it would be OK? Or do you have to be born with this "beachbody" to qualify? Seems to me however you get your body in shape for the competition would all be the same. I'm so sorry there disqualifying you, it is just plan wrong. Men and women do and take all kinds of things to get great bodies, sound like discrimination. You've worked hard you deserve it. ~~~Stephanie
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted May 24, 2013 Sorry, what is the beach body challenge?

I used beachbody programs to help achieve my weight loss goals and entered my before and after pictures to their challenge. Once the community found out I had the surgery the thought Oh that's how she lost all her weight..which Yes I used it as a tool but I worked damn hard for it..and I used their products.. they granted me and my family 25k..which was gonna help my family greatly cause we've been struggling for some time then once they found out they disqualified and took all this away from us. I get they have rules but clearly they didn't see the big picture here...I didn't cheat.. I worked hard to loose 170lbs in 18 months .. 2 naibrittany and stept04 reacted to this
stept04 465 Posted May 25, 2013 Maybe you could fight it? ~~~Stephanie
s0utherndivadoll 103 Posted May 25, 2013 Maybe you could fight it? ~~~Stephanie I wanted too but obviously this company is full of crap and they already rewarded the money I worked hard for to someone else who's well know in the beachbody community.. it hurts because my family deserved it but I think it would just bring More disappointment and pain if I kept on. stept04 465 Posted May 25, 2013 Well I can understand. I don't think it was fair, but you've done a great job in my book anyway. So good luck and enjoy your accomplishments. ~~~Stephanie
Onthedkline 1 Posted May 27, 2013 What!! That's so crazy!! And wrong on so many levels!! I'm sorry for what happened to you and I pray you and your family are looked after in all areas xx
dfeickert25 35 Posted May 28, 2013 Wow that is very wrong on so many levels and it sounds like false advertising saying anyone one can enter but people who have weight loss surgery cant and I'm sorry that happened to you and don't let it bring you down 1 stept04 reacted to this
meachie 22 Posted May 30, 2013 That's so unfair!!! I'm still proud of you!!! You've done an outstanding job!!! They don't know the band is just a tool!!! It doesn't make you work out like you have for 18 months to loose the weight!!! God will bless you in another way and your blessing will exceed $25,000!!! 1 stept04 reacted to this
BayougirlMrsS 3,935 Posted June 6, 2013 I agree with all the above... that's seems so unfair. i have a few friends that do the "beach body" stuff and have tried to get me into that.... so glad i didn't if this is how that treat dedicated costumers like you
rbmk14 59 Posted June 7, 2013 I'm so sorry that happened to you! I've tried some of their videos in the past and they're great, but I can see how the people might treat you like that. I know a girl who is a coach for beachbody and she's always posting all of her motivational and promotional stuff on Facebook, but she also has complained multiple times about "obese people hogging the machines at the gym because everyone knows they're not going to stick with it anyway" and has said a few other negative things. For that reason alone I would not buy anything from them again or have anything to do with it. I'm definitely not saying all of the reps from Beachbody are like this, but it seems that at least a few are, which is more than enough for me!
Heather Vaughn 0 Posted July 24, 2013 Kudos to you for losing the weight, and taking back your health. I'm sure it wasn't easy! Actually...the Beachbody Grand Prize Official rules DO prohibit surgery as a method of weight loss for contestants: " Contestants whose appearance or fitness transformation before (even if not previously discovered), during, or after winning a Monthly Contest Prize has been in any way altered by, or is due to, in whole or in part, the use of body enhancing, non-medically necessary plastic/cosmetic surgery (for example, implants), liposuction, steroids, human growth hormone, or any unnatural method of body enhancement or weight reduction of any kind are not eligible to enter and will be disqualified. " The company is helping thousands; if not millions; of people to reduce their weight; and has a mission to end the trend of obesity. I'm sure your tranformation took a lot of work; and wasn't easy...however, it was aided by an "unnatural method" of "weight reduction". Once again; your health is worth WAY more than $25,000...Congratulations!
