I just had my 1st fill today and I'm a lil worried. As she was doing the fill I asked her how much Fluid she was going to put In and her response was we're going to try 3ccs. Well after a hiccup with finding the port she said I think u have some fluid in your band already so were going to put in 2. She later said I had 1.8 in plus the 2 now. So she had me drink Water and I said I it went down ok... Well as soon as I walked out I felt like a pill was stuck in my throat (I've only had water at this point) and now almost 2 hrs later I still have this annoying feeling. Is that normal? Does it go away shortly? I really don't want to go back for an unfill due to the tornado disaster in Moore, ok and traffic...

Can you drink liquids without a problem?

I'm not sure how to answer that question.... I am sipping on Water now but I still have this weird feeling like a pill is stuck. It's not coming up if that's what u mean?

Well the fact it's not coming back up is good. Maybe try a warm liquid, like tea, to see if it helps.

If you're able to drink liquids, I'd give a couple days and see what happens. I know I stay on liquids the first 24 hours after a fill anyway.

Yeah I'm def gonna stick with liquids for 24hrs. I also know I'm dehydrated and maybe that's contributing. Thanks for the advice!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
