I am 10 days post.. I have 3 incisions.. 2 in my belly button and 1 on my side... And have mercy! If I would have known the belly button would have been such a pain to heal I would have went with the regular incisions (he gave me a choice to minimize scarring)

I wonder why I have five?

I have five as well. Also I want to add that I'm two and a half weeks post op and have no discomfort at all from my incisions. I want to scratch them sometimes but that's it! Lol

That's good to know!! I just can't seem to get comfortable any way a lie in the bed.

Oh yeah... I definitely know what you mean there... I put like 3-4 pillows and semi-propped myself up. Still wasn't comfortable but I couldn't lay flat, it felt like it was stretching the incisions and they would pop open Lol obviously they wouldn't, but they felt that way. I slept on my stomach first time about 5 days post-op, my side took a few more days. The side was the most uncomfortable at first. For my stomach I would SLOWLY get on all fours and place a pillow where my stomach was going to go and SLOWLY lower myself into the pillow. The pressure actually felt good for some reason. But it took me a while to build the courage to even try. But, it gets better I promise you that! Every day will start being better than the last!!!

I can slowly ease over on my side. Of course I'm scared to death that something has shifted or slipped. I have to get over that anxiety. Time will help hopefully. I haven't even tried my stomach. To chicken!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
