What an amazing feeling, to jump on the scale and see this loss. With that said, I now move on to the puréed food stage and I know the weight loss will slow down. I thought I would be excited to start eating regular food, but I'm kinda scared. Scared of getting stuck and scared of enjoying the taste too much.

great job...use this loss as your motivator

dont be scared...chew alot,,take small bites, go slow

i am 11 months post op, never stuck, never slimed or anything..dont worry about what could happen...what if it doesnt (then we worried for nothing)....dont worry what the scale says, if you are losing inches then you are losing...so proud of you.

Don't be scared! It's a good thing to advance in your diet!

Not everyone gains as they advance, either. I started tracking calories from the day I got home from the hospital and I lost consistently even while on the post op diet because of it.

Best wishes

Thank you so much ladies. I've seen you two on here helping so many people. You two are truly inspirational and I feel secure and so optimistic about this journey, knowing I have such an amazing support system.

Eight pounds is 30,000 calories. Not to be a downer, but most of the beginning weight loss is often Fluid related. I'm only saying this so you won't be discouraged if some of the weight pops back on... it did for me. Please don't take my comments as being negative, But, as you progress, the pounds will keep coming off, at a more modest rate. Keep up your positive attitude and best of luck!

Thanks lab walker, and yes I realize that. I've lost many lbs over the years with the most being fluids at the beginning. Lol been there done that. And like I said I know it will change once I start actually eating food. But this time is different, I know that with the band, and my continued work with the band I will see long term success. That is what makes this journey so different from previous diets and losses. I am determined to get off this roller coaster.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
