Trouble making the right choices

Recommended Posts

I go for my first fill in two days (thank god). I originally lost 12 lbs the first week but as soon as I got on solids I have only kept 8 lbs off. My problem is that I have been eating less (barely) but I can't seem to find motivation to eat healthier! I found myself finishing my sons pizza tonight, and although it was maybe half the amount I'd usually eat, I should have been making a better choice. I am wondering if my motivation level will change after my fill? Will I ever be satisfied and not craving pizza and bread? Will I eat substantially less once I have a fill? I know I'm eating like 2 cups now, not one. I overrate once and had a big stomach ache, so I do know my limits, but I feel like I need more restriction than that to successfully lose weight. I guess I am frustrated and wondering when this will work. I am also a big exerciser, and maybe not running has also effected my weight. I was told 2 more weeks before I can run. Hopefully things get better!

Unfortunately the band can't change our brains. There is a saying around here "the band goes around your stomach, not your head". It's up to you to make good food choices. It's also really important you start sticking to band sized portions because it is possible to eat around the band and over eat despite having adequate Fluid in your band,

Maybe a support group or counselor could help you deal with your head issues? food addiction is very real and sometimes we need very real help to deal with them.

Best wishes

I felt the same way, but once you get some fills, bread and pizza are much harder to eat. Knowing how bad they make me feel makes me crave them much less. Also...I was just plain hungry all the time ( it seemed) until I had my 3rd fill last week. Now less food satisfies me and I stay full for much longer. I wasn't sure I really believed in the "green zone" until I hit it. :) Just hang in there and if you feel like having a slice if pizza and you track your calories and have an allowance for it...it should be fine. Good luck!

People learn to eat in ways to allow them to over eat, for instance some will eat until they get their stop signal, wait a little while, then eat more. There are also slider foods that we can eat tons of with ease.

Where there is a will, there's a way, even when it comes to unhealthy eating habits.
